In Her name :Empire By: Michal Hicks Review

OK so recently I finished what is probably now my all time favorite series.  I finished the books about a week or two ago and just finished reading the series for the second time in a row(because it was so good).  The First Book in the series (the one I am reviewing) is called empire and in my opinion is the best of the three and I believe it may also be the longest.  The book is filled with a lot of amazing detail that the author puts in to show the reader their version of the future as well as the main storyline.

The story is mainly about a boy name Reza Gard who when he was seven his parents were killed in a battle for their home planet against an alien race known as the Kreelan and then went on to eventual be abducted by them and then raised as a Kreelan warrior with his original caretaker and then partner Esah-Zhurah.  The  Kreelan are a race of blue skinned aliens who are similar yet quite unique to humans at the same time.  They are similar because they are humanoid yet different in almost any other way.  As an example they have talons on their hands, and I cant forget to mention the fangs... Also as a side note they cannot cry, they instead have black mourning marks that reside below their eyes.  The Kreelans are unique in the fact they there are all bonded together with something called the Blood Song.  The Blood Song is a telepathic link between the all that when in combat it creates a fire like feeling of power that rushes through there veins and drives them to succeed in combat or gain honer in dieing for their empress the most powerful of all the Kreela.

As a  side note I would like to inform those reading this that it is not a book for a weak stomach for violence and there should be discretion when choosing to read this book.

    1. They can be quite interesting i would just caution against going into something that is just really out there, i would read something that you think has a closer relation to reality then it will be easier to get through the book without getting too close to getting confused or bored. One thing that i do when i go out and read sci-fi books is i tend to try and find a series that has actual people in it so it is easier to relate to over the course of the book instead of having everything be entirely "alien" to you and your thought process (authors tend to make people think like, well people and with "other entities" it is a toss up). Think of it as finding a sort of "anchor that keeps you tied to reality.
